Materials Needed:

Fresh Grass: Enough to fill the pit

Molasses: 3-4 kg for every 100 kg of fresh grass

Water: Equal to or slightly more than the amount of molasses

Polythene: Enough to line the pit and cover the grass

Sprinkler: 1 for applying molasses-water mixture

Preparation Method:

1. First, line the pit with polythene. Then put 40 kg of grass into the pit and sprinkle evenly with a mixture of 1 kg molasses and 1 liter water using the sprinkler.

2. After sprinkling the molasses-water mixture, trample the grass thoroughly with your feet to remove any air pockets.

3. Repeat the process with another 40 kg of grass and the same amount of molasses-water mixture.

4. Continue layering grass and sprinkling the mixture until the pit is full. Then cover the grass pile with extra polythene to prevent air from entering. Make sure no gaps are left.

5. Take care to prevent rainwater from entering the pit.

6. After 20-25 days, the grass will be ready to feed to cattle.
