1. The calf must be fed colostrum within 1 hour of birth.

2. The calf should be separated from its mother 2-3 days after birth.

3. From 4 days of age, it is good to feed the calf cereal-based food (corn flour). This helps develop the rumen quickly.

4. Arrange to feed CMR (Commercial Milk Replacer) instead of milk.

5. The calf should be fed milk before milking.

6. Special care should be taken for calves until they are 3-4 weeks old.

7. After 4 weeks, the calf should be given grass-based food.
